Safer
Sleeping Doorway Closed Bridge

The Initiative "safeinverness" was officially launched at ICCM's Business Breakfast on the 24th March 2004.  Various stakeholders have been called upon to provide members / advisors for the safeinverness Steering Group.  These include representatives from Northern Constabulary (Chair), Highland Council, Inverness & Nairn Enterprise, Inverness City Centre Management, Inverness and District Chamber of Commerce, Inverness Crime Prevention Panel, Inverness Licensing Board, Inverness PDSO, Community Safety Group and the Scottish Business Crime Centre.

This group are now running with a fully integrated information sharing set of protocols, which allows monthly bulletins containing current relevant information, regarding individuals and incidents, to be shared between the Crime Reduction Partnership Members.

The project "safeinverness" is financed with a three year funding package from the public sector from 2004 - 2007.

The BID team is here to inspire as well as reflect business opinion. One idea that businesses may consider, is to continue this successful project by spreading the cost of "safeinverness" across 650 businesses rather than 85. This would reduce cost and also improve services.
