Gutter Project

BID has been working with Highland Council as part of the Cleaner Inverness Campaign on a gutter project to give City Centre buildings a facelift.
The level of growth in the gutters of some buildings is unacceptable and people have remarked on it frequently.
Craig Duncan, BID Chairman, “We understand the concerns the councillors expressed regarding the property owners taking full responsibility for their buildings. Overall, we think what is proposed is a pragmatic solution in a difficult situation and BID is happy to work with Highland Council to find a way of getting the property owners to assume their responsibilities.”
We have earmarked £8,000 of our funding towards the project and were extremely pleased secure the balance of £16,000 from Inverness Common Good Fund.
With the Barclays Scottish Open Golf coming up and the peak tourist season getting underway we want the City to look as good as possible to make a good impression on our vital tourism market.
This project follows on from the successful work completed in Baron Taylor, Drummond and Lombard Streets last year, which was also a joint initiative by Inverness BID and the Highland Council.
