INVERNESS BEST BAR NONE AWARDS 2013

Inverness 2013 Best Bar None Awards

At the prestigious Inverness 2013 BEST BAR NONE Awards ceremony held on Monday 13th January at the Mercure Hotel,  for the first time ever, 17  local premises were presented with coveted Gold Awards and Silver Awards.

Best Bar None is a nationally recognised awards scheme for licensed premises and currently runs in over 80 locations across the UK. This year over 350 premises throughout Scotland took part in the assessment process.

The Inverness scheme is organised by Inverness BID and premises are initially assessed by local specialised representatives of Inverness BID, Police Scotland and Highland Council. The premises have to demonstrate how well they manage and operate their own businesses to meet a commonly agreed set of national benchmarks.

Following review of the assessments, the local independent judging panel decided that the following premises gained GOLD awards

Blacksmiths,  Gellions, G’s Night Club, Johnny Foxes and The Den, MacCallums, Miami Night Club, Arts Bar at the Mercure Hotel, Private Eyes, No 27, Auctioneers, Exchange, The Keg, The Kings Highway, The Room

SILVER awards were gained by The Caledonian, The Chieftain Hotel and Monty’s, the latter two being first time entries.

Craig Duncan, Chairman of Inverness BID said “ As co-ordinators of Best Bar None in Inverness, BID recognise the value of these awards on both a national and local basis. We are delighted this is the first time that such a large number of licensed premises have received the coveted Gold award status, which is a great statement confirming the quality and outstanding efforts of our licensed premises.”

The local independent judging panel also decided that the overall winners in each category , who go forward to the National Awards, held on Thursday 27th March 2014  in Glasgow are

  • PUB CATEGORY - The Kings Highway
