OPEN EVENING EVENT to find out more about Highland Council Services

People in Inverness who want to find out more about the range of Community Services provided in their local area by The Highland Council are invited to an open evening event on Tuesday 4 November at the Town House, Inverness from 6pm – 8pm.

Community Services is a new directorate of The Highland Council that delivers many of the Council’s everyday services, with staff in regular contact with the people of the Highlands.  The Service delivers a wide range of services including refuse collection, grass cutting, winter maintenance, housing, homelessness, roads maintenance.

Service Director William Gilfillan and Committee Chairman Councillor Graham MacKenzie will describe the variety of services that are provided, explain what the Council does with the money available, and listen to what communities have to say about local services.

This is one in a series of nine events taking place throughout the Highlands during October to December. Four events have already taken place in Wick, Kingussie, Dingwall and Tain and another four are due to take place on:

Chairman of The Highland Council’s Community Services Committee, Graham Mackenzie, is encouraging people to attend the local events. He said: “Community Services is a new directorate of The Highland Council that delivers many of the Council’s every day services such as refuse collection, grass cutting, waste management, homelessness, roads maintenance and much more.  This puts our staff in regular contact with most of you.

“The Director and I are keen to speak to you about how we deliver these services, how we might improve service delivery and what you could do more of yourselves to benefit your community.  It would be great to see as many of you as possible during our round of Open Evenings.”
