2016 Best Bar None Awards

2016 BEST BAR NONE AWARDS

Eighteen licensed premises in Inverness have triumphed in an awards ceremony honouring those that create a safer environment for the public.

Each business that applied for accreditation under the Best Bar None scheme was visited by an independent assessor and judged on their efforts around the prevention of crime and disorder, and securing public safety.

Venues which demonstrated a passing score in all of the key criteria were allocated a bronze accreditation.

Silver and gold accreditations were allocated to venues which went above and beyond to achieve the five objectives.

At the evening ceremony held at the city centre's Mercure Hotel on Monday 9th January, three premises gained Bronze and 13 gained Gold Awards

Best Bar None is a nationally recognised awards scheme for licensed premises and currently runs in over 80 locations across the UK. This year over 500 premises throughout Scotland took part in the assessment process.

The scheme is organised by Inverness BID and premises are initially assessed locally where they must demonstrate how well they manage and operate their own businesses to meet a commonly agreed set of national benchmarks.

Overall winners in each category are decided by an independent judging panel and they will go on to the Best Bar None National Awards Ceremony being held in Glasgow on 30th March.  The winners are:

•INDEPENDENT BAR CATEGORY - JOHNNY FOXES AND THE DEN

•PUB CATEGORY - THE EXCHANGE

•BAR CATEGORY - AUCTIONEERS
