BEST BAR NONE AWARDS CEREMONY 2012

At the fifth annual BEST BAR NONE Awards ceremony held  during the evening of Monday 14th January and attended by over 130 guests,   14 premises gained TEN Gold Awards and FOUR Silver Awards covering the categories of Pubs, Bars and Clubs. The Exchange, Arts Bar in the Mercure Hotel, The Auctioneers and No 27 all gained SILVER awards whilstThe Kings Highway, Blacksmiths, Lauders, The Gellions, Johnny Foxes and The Den, The Room, Caffé Teatro, MacCallums, The Keg and G’s Night Club all gained GOLD awards.

Red Hot Highland Fling

The 2012 show will be hosted by CRAIG HILL and will star BIG COUNTRY , TREACHEROUS ORCHESTRA , SKERRYVORE and THE WHISKY RIVER BAND . The gates will open at 7pm and the show will start at the earlier time of 7.15pm.The Red Hot Highland Fling is designed to be family friendly with the top of our bill always scheduled to come on stage at 9.45pm. This is so that families can get the little ones home in time for the bells.

Taxi Marshalls extended hours to cover Festive Licence Extension

Following the Licensing Board's decision to allow a one hour festive license extension until 4am, Inverness BID as part of Operation Respect has arranged for the Taxi Marshalls to be on duty until 5am on the following dates:December 21st, 22nd, 24th, 27th, 28th and 31st

Public Statement on HMOs

Today's Inverness Courier (18.12.12) includes a full page Public Statement on HMO explaining about HMO and the reasons why Inverness BID supports Option One of the Highland Council's Public Consultation.  It includes 21 comments from local businesses and property owners stating their reasons why they support Option One and believe that any other option could have a detrimental affect on the city centre.You can read the full page here

New Online Click & Collect Shopping facility launched

Retailers in the Inverness BID area are now able to join a SHOP LOCAL CAMPAIGN to encourage people to support local businesses.  BID have partnered with Tuminds Social Media to bring you this unique opportunityGreaterInverness Local Marketplace http://shoplocal.greaterinverness.com/ enables Inverness businesses to promote and sell their products online on a collective website encouraging people to SHOP LOCAL and visit the City Centre.

Stagecoach Extend Some Services Over Christmas & New Year

Stagecoach in the Highlands are keen to inform customers that some services over the Christmas and New Year period are subject to revision.During the Christmas and New Year period Stagecoach will be running special festive timetables on certain days, which will allow customers the chance to go shopping in the sales or visit friends and family. No services will run on the 25th December and 1st January however.
