Today's Inverness Courier (18.12.12) includes a full page Public Statement on HMO explaining about HMO and the reasons why Inverness BID supports Option One of the Highland Council's Public Consultation.  It includes 21 comments from local businesses and property owners stating their reasons why they support Option One and believe that any other option could have a detrimental affect on the city centre.You can read the full page here

New Online Click & Collect Shopping facility launched

Retailers in the Inverness BID area are now able to join a SHOP LOCAL CAMPAIGN to encourage people to support local businesses.  BID have partnered with Tuminds Social Media to bring you this unique opportunityGreaterInverness Local Marketplace enables Inverness businesses to promote and sell their products online on a collective website encouraging people to SHOP LOCAL and visit the City Centre.

Stagecoach Extend Some Services Over Christmas & New Year

Stagecoach in the Highlands are keen to inform customers that some services over the Christmas and New Year period are subject to revision.During the Christmas and New Year period Stagecoach will be running special festive timetables on certain days, which will allow customers the chance to go shopping in the sales or visit friends and family. No services will run on the 25th December and 1st January however.

BID Security Task Task Team deployed over Festive Period

As part of Operation Respect which aims are ‘To create a safe and clean environment for people, families and business within Inverness City Centre by preventing the occurrence of anti-social behaviour with a focus on creating respect for the community’, the Bid Security Task Team will be deployed throughout the festive period commencing Friday 17th November until Wednesday 2nd January 2013This initiative has been funded following financial contributions from Inverness BID and The Inverness Common Good fund.

Successful Free Retail Crime Seminar held on 9th October

New Director Appointed to Inverness BID Board

Inverness BID has announced the appointment of Charlie Lawrence of Bank Street based Ryden to their Board of Directors.BID Chairman, Craig Duncan said “I and my fellow directors are delighted that Charlie has agreed to be co-opted to join the BID Board.  He brings with him experience in both the letting and development of property in the city centre which we feel are crucial at this time.”

River Ness Flood Alleviation Scheme

River Ness Flood Alleviation Scheme:  The project team managing the first phase of this £21m scheme willl be available at Inverness Town House between noon and 7 pm on Wednesday 10 October to explain what is involved in the utility diversionary works needed to make way for the construction phase. Coffey Construction have won this contract, which begins on 22 October.

City Centre Student Hub Application Approval Welcomed

Inverness BID Welcomes Approval of Planning Application for City Centre Student HubInverness Business Improvement District (BID) Chairman, Craig Duncan has welcomed today’s decision to approve the application by Inverness Properties Limited for planning permission for a Student Hub in the Rose Street area adjacent to the Ironworks.He said “We are delighted that this application for accommodation for more than 100 students in flatlets has received planning approval.”
