£315million CITY DEAL FOR INVERNESS

Today (22nd March) the BID Chairman, Craig Duncan attended the historic signing of the City Deal where £315m was allocated for capital projects in the area over next 10 years. Craig commented "Its a fantastic deal & all credit must go to the Highland Council leader & her staff for achieving this result insetting up a base for confirmed investment in Inverness for the forseeable future"

Inverness finalists in National Best Bar None Awards 2015-16 Three venues in Inverness have been chosen as finalists in the Best Bar None Scotland National Awards 2015-16 to find the best licensed premises in the country. The awards ceremony will take place at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow on Thursday 24 March 2016.

The popular Inverness Classic Vehicle show, now in its eighth year returns to the City Centre! In 2015 we had the largest ever number of entrants for the Show and this year we have increased the event capacity.  Display areas will include Church Street, High Street/Inglis Street, Falcon Square and Inverness Castle.To create a welcoming, family atmosphere a range of entertainment is organised including musicians & street entertainers and the City Sightseeing bus provides free public mini tours.

Backing for Inverness Castle Attraction

Plans to develop a national tourism attraction at Inverness Castle have been backed by the public and local businesses. The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS), which currently occupies the building, has announced plans to leave the iconic castle building for a new purpose-built justice centre. 

INVERNESS JUSTICE CENTRE WELCOMED

BID Chairman Craig Duncan said this afternoon (17.12.15) “ we are delighted with the announcement that the Scottish Government is committed to the building of a new Inverness Justice Centre which will free up Inverness Castle for public use. Having a projected completion date of 3 years with the undertaking that design development of the Centre is now underway, is a major boost for Inverness City Centre.
