The Face2Face project is a partnership between Springboard UK and Barnardo’s Works.  The programme is funded through Big Lottery Scotland and the Highland Council.  The Face2Face project provides tailored support and training for young people aged from 15 ½  to 24 who have had experience of either the care system or the criminal justice system, this will ultimately prepare them for successful independent living and to take advantage of job or further educational opportunities available. In total the project offers support for 52 weeks through a series of phases, each intended to assist development.

Phase 1 lasts for 12 weeks and focuses on developing basic independent living skills and familiarity with working in a group. Phase 1 activities will involve 10 hours each week. At this stage the intention is to create the conditions which will allow beneficiaries to progress to phase 2.

Phase 2 is a part-time 6 week personal and professional development programme focussed on developing essential life skills through co-ordinated group work and structured daily activities. Although structured, sessions will be informal with an emphasis on enjoyment.

Phase 3 is a 4 week pre-employability programme covering essential skills such as interview techniques, job search and CV writing as well as industry visits and understanding employers’ expectations.

Phase 4 is a 4 week supported work placement or further support with college/further training progressions.

Phase 5 is a 26 week aftercare support programme to ensure that progress is sustained and that transitional difficulties can be addressed with appropriate help and support.
