Safety

We received funding in 2010 to employ a permanent Community Safety Manager. John McDonald joined us in October 2016 following the retirement of Malcolm Raeburn. To date John has been involved in a number of important initiatives such as:
- Data sharing with the Northern Constabulary to combat anti-social behaviour such as shoplifting and drug abuse with the City Centre.
- Inverness Pub Watch & The Best Bar None Awards Scheme, which promotes responsible licensees throughout the night time economy.
- The City Centre Task Team, which operates during busy periods to ensure that anti-social behaviour, is kept to a minimum and give extra reassurance to retailers during this important time.
- The Taxi Marshall Scheme, which again runs during busier periods to prevent anti-social behaviour and give reassurance to residents at night.
- Inverness Retail Security Group.
