Old High Inverness SCIO

The Old High is the oldest building in Inverness, deeply woven into the life stories of the city and its people. Yet it now stands at a turning point. With regular worship having come to an end, the building is largely closed and underused. Without action, there is a real risk that this extraordinary place will gradually fall out of public life. Our ambition is to bring The Old High back into daily use as a welcoming, vibrant and sustainable civic space, one that honours its past while opening up new possibilities for the future. The building will become a place where people can explore the story of Inverness, experience music and performance, take part in community life, and find moments of quiet reflection. It will remain a place of dignity and meaning, but also one that feels alive, relevant and open to all. Our campaign to save the iconic Old High Inverness began at a public meeting in Inverness Town House in February 2024. Since then, our fundraising campaign has raised enough to buy the site and begin to preserve its future. Moving forward we need your help to bring The Old High back to life.
