BID Director Lorraine Bremner McBride said:
“The Inverness City Centre Gift Card is an exciting new initiative that will allow us all to support our locally based businesses and keep more money in our local economy at a time when it is needed the most given the economic landscape for households and businesses remains challenging.”
“Our businesses help to sustain our communities by providing the employment, and the goods and services we need so opting to buy a local Gift Card this Christmas really will make such a big difference and it is win-win too as recipients will have an extensive and impressive range of places to choose where to redeem it at including high street brands and local independents, across all sectors including retail, hospitality, leisure and health and beauty which makes it an ideal present for all ages.”
“We are currently visiting our member businesses to help them register for the scheme but the feedback we have received so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Businesses are delighted that it is free for them to join thanks to the support of the Highland Council and they are very pleased that the processing of payments is so quick and easy.
The card will be available to purchase online with an option to have a physical or a digital card and will be launched as part of our #invernessloveslocal campaign.”
“The City Centre is such a great place to visit, with our many bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and services and much more in a relatively small area so the Gift Card will also help us to showcase all we have to offer here in Inverness.”
Inverness City Centre businesses are being contacted by the Inverness City Centre BID team but any enquiries in the interim can be sent to: info@inverness.uk.com
Michael Freeman of Panasonic Inverness & Euronics Centre on Academy Street who signed his business up to the scheme said:
“We are extremely excited to participate in the new Inverness Gift Card scheme as it brings focus once more on supporting real local. Having a Gift Card like this to spend within Inverness City Centre on whatever you want from the dozens of businesses that are to support it couldn’t have come at a better time, especially with everything that is being thrown at all of us right now, and with no additional costs for us as a business to be part of or for the customer to use, it really was a no brainer for us to say yes.
It seems to get harder each year to buy gifts for family and loved ones but with this new Gift Card you will be able to give the perfect gift every time, whether for Christmas, Birthdays, Weddings or even just a Thank You you’ll know not only should it “hit the spot” but also that it will support everything that is local”
